Platinum recording artist Touching Fire is made up of Avery Parsons and Madalynne Alvarez. The girls first met as children, both coming from musical families. Alvarez' parents are two-thirds of Angels of Hellfire, her sisters are one-half of Hellfire & Damnation. Parsons' father hails from Blink 81, and she was raised by her aunt, the remaining third of Angels of Hellfire). Because of this, the girls spent most of their childhood and adolescence traveling around the world together. It seemed inevitable that the pair would end up following in their parents’ footsteps.
They experimented early on with a heavy metal repertoire, but their love for dancing won out in the end. Instead of belting out angry anthems, the girls, decided to bring dance and pop to people’s lives.
Their first world tour in Year 76 saw them rising quickly up the charts, set for world domination. Playing to nearly packed houses as one of the openers on the Bigger Bang, a label-wide world tour, the duo was quickly asked to do a solo headlining tour. It was much smaller, only a handful of cities, but they jumped at the opportunity. By the end of its run, many critics were amazed to find out this was only their debut!
The sophomore follow-up took several years to put together. The winter of Year 79 saw them finally getting back on the road, completing back-to-back world tours until Year 81, when they announced that at the end of the tour, the duo would no longer be performing together. The girls remain close friends. and Alvarez embarked on a solo R&B career while Parsons moved to a role behind the camera, becoming a sought-after director.
